Dr. Pike Dentistry For Children is a cutting edge pediatric dentistry with an office in Portland, Oregon. They have pioneered dental services tailored exclusively toward children in a way that removes the fear from going to the dentist.
Old Website Problems
Doctorpike.com was built by a third party provider who had developed their own custom content management system. The 3rd party CMS system had the following problems:
- No control over critical SEO tags such as H1
- Editing team was slow to respond to client needs
- The CMS did not allow for an SEO-friendly blog
Additionally, the former site was not mobile-ready.
One of the biggest issues with the site is that many of the core pages featured duplicate content that was taken from the provides “content catalog.” This is a big problem we see with providers that mass produce websites – often the content on the site will be duplicated on hundreds of other sites.
The Solution
We recommended a custom-coded WordPress website that was responsive, so that it would rank well on mobile devices. WordPress was chosen because of it’s industry standard SEO-friendliness and back-end ease of use.
We also interfaced with the 3rd party provider to determine which content and images were owned by them and which content and images were owned by our client. We then purchased new images and wrote 100% new, unique content to target Dr. Pike’s array of services.
Since our client liked the existing design of his site, we were able to keep costs down by replicating the existing site.
The Result
The new doctorpike.com website features a responsive design that scales to any sized mobile device. The new site is much more SEO-friendly and allows for content to be easily published and optimized for Google.
