Business Ethics

I wanted to write a little post for those people who find me via the search engines and want to get a better idea of the man behind the company you’re considering for SEO work.

I am a pretty conservative guy. I will not make promises to you I can’t keep. I would prefer to under-promise and over-deliver. That’s my style. I want you to be so happy with my service that you tell your small-business-owner-friends about me.

As long as I am working with you, I won’t do business with your competitor. Period. Besides being unethical to me, it’s just plain stupid. Why would I spend so much energy getting your website ranked in Google, only to turn around and do the same for the guy up the street from you?

I generally do not believe in contracts or lawyers. I’m a straight-up guy and I believe business does not have to be that complicated. I believe in making a proposal and agreeing to work off it. If we put something in writing, it’s just so we both know what to expect, not so we can sue each other over interpretation.

Communication is important to me. If you call me, I will call you back. If you email me, I will email you back.

I want to build relationships and earn trust. I want your referrals, so I can stop spending so much time optimizing my own site to attract it. 🙂

I look forward to speaking with you. If I don’t think I can help you, I will tell you. Either way, I will answer all your questions and even try to guide you if you just want to do it yourself. That’s ok, too. I believe in karma.
